Now you are using our theme on the magento2, so you can't add separate text to slider, the text will be included inside slider image. You will need to customize it if you want to add text to slider image
You can use photoshop to add text to slider then you use image that it has text for slider, you will need to know about photoshop, an image look like the image that I just attached
The solution you have provided is not the proper one. I know how to add overlay text in Photoshop, but client doesn't know, the one who will be using it on regular basis.
