    When I use footer type 4 none of the footer widgets (other footer types work fine).

    Hi,

    Can you provide an admin account? 

    Or you can go to Appearance > Widget and add content you want from widgets in the left side to footer 4 widget sidebar placed in the right side.

    Ok, did it, but there's another problem - the three columns take up a whole row and the first its own, so we have two rows in the footer now. See screenshot.

    I solved that problem for you. You must upload the logo for the header type 1
