I thought you wanted to show your product page with 2 columns without a sidebar so I suggest you tried the product 1 column template(This is layout 2 columns without sidebar).
To choose the sidebar, you can configure blocks in this section Product 2 columns with right bar or Product 2 columns with left bar.
If you can't config it, you can contact us. We'll help you to custom it.
I have a problem with my theme, I try to place 2 columns without the sidebar in the product page, and it has been impossible.
