In magento 2.4.1, elasticsearch is required, and it do not support multi select for filter. This is a problem with our customer, so we researched to find solution for this issue, and combining with Smile's modules is a good solution. Note that Smile's modules will support for module MGS_LayerNavigation.
On your site, to support for filter on category page or search page, you can use MGS_LayerNavigation or Amasty's modules. Since they have the same functionality, they can customize the same elements from the core of magento, which can easily lead to errors. So, You can choose one of the two, and disable the other
And if you want to use module MGS_LayerNavigation for your site, please follow file readme.txt to enable Smile's module.
